Die Takke Adventure Camp in South Africa is a 35ha farm with wonderful facilities for school kids. Their business used to thrive in the early 2000’s, but an outdated image was leaving them behind, and they were not attracting interest from schools in Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal or the Free State like they used to.

They engaged me to review and refresh their brand identity, website, stationery, signage and marketing materials. None of their existing marketing brochures showcased their beautiful location and fun activities, and they did not have a website.

In their marketing communications, it was critical to communicate the safety aspect of the camps and instill some trust through clear messaging and description of facilities. For the logo, I wanted to recreate a dusty stamp badge, with some natural elements, bringing in their unique kraal that encloses the camp. The kraal looks like the antlers of a ‘takbok’. At the centre of the kraal is an epic bonfire/food-making area. This is where children and teachers congregate for most meals and relaxing time. I put the fire at the centre of the antlers. The cute arrows depicting adventure in all directions.
