I’ve just engaged with Ultra Boats South Africa, a top leisure boat manufacturer, so my brief was to finalize the naming of the business, purchase their online space such as website domain, email accounts, social media platforms, and design a custom website for their boats. The website brief was to develop an online store for their 500+ marine accessories and products, which they sell to leisure boating customers across South Africa.
Ultra Boats is owned by Clayton Krause, who has re-invented modern boat building and hopes to revolutionize manufacturing processes. Ultra Boats builds craft for leading brands such as the Sunsport for Boating International, Ruffnek Bass Boats, Ace Glider for Camping & Boating Centre in Johannesburg. What’s even better is that the company is still growing: they’ve added four new models to the product line since the beginning of our collaboration, and their production schedule is nicely booked. As soon as the next prototype is complete, the website will be launched. (September 2020).
The new Ultra Boats site leads with fantastic video and photography of Ultra Boats new models in action, immediately transporting you right out on the water. All the product info and specs are displayed perfectly on desktop and mobile screens, with suggested product links to maximize cross-sells and promotions.
The online store is easy to navigate and as well as being minimal and to-the-point, I’ve embedded feature-rich descriptions and functionality if the visitor wants to see more. Website design for manufacturing and the B2B market seemed smooth sailing for a captured market, but the business has its sights now on capturing a new market of buyers who will purchase marine accessories, such as Garmin GPS and Fish Finders, online.
Ultra Boats is a well-regarded boating brand that makes world-class boats, backed by people who genuinely care about their customers. I love being part of their success!
